The wings were being reinstalled on this DC-6A in late July 2020. The owner's son recently reported on Facebook. "After 17 years sitting up here in the hills were finally getting to her. She was put on pilings a few weeks ago. And within this last week we've put a wing back on along with motors and some ridiculously bent props. This old girl is getting converted into a house by my dad."

In 2003, following 11 years of storage as a spares donor in the Everts yard at Fairbanks airport, this DC-6 was sold to a private person, for use as a home. On 19 July 2003 it was trucked from the airport to its new location on the Old Steese Highway in northern Fairbanks. By Aug 2018 it was still in much the same condition as seen in this photo, but conversion to a home started in July 2020 by putting it up on pilings and mounting the right wing and some DC-4 engines.
