To research the SO.4000 jet bomber, Sud-Ouest built the M1 glider and the M2, powered by a Derwent engine. It first flew on 13 April 1949, just before the 1949 Salon. This is probably the real thing, but it is doubtful if it was flown with the flush cockpit canopy seen here. Its outrigger wheels are not fitted. Also see photo 449819.
