The Götaverken GV-38 was based on the Rearwin 9000L Sportster, alhtough it was not an exact copy. The wing spars and fuselage stringers were strengthened. The steel tubes of the fuselage frame were dimensionally larger than on the original aircraft. The lower section of the rudder was increased in order to improve the spin characteristics. Only 14 of these aircraft were built in Sweden and this one survives in the excellent Flyg- och Lottamuseum in Optand.

Built in 1941. Made in Gothenburg under licence from USA manufacturer Rearwin, as an improved model 9000. This plane flew in Sweden until October 5, 1964, when it made a forced landing in a field near the museum. After repairs, it was no longer airworthy.

Swedish company AB Götaverken license built 14 Rearwin 9000L Sportsters as the Götaverken GV.38 from 1938. First registered as SE-AHF in June 1939 and exported to Norway the following month, LN-FAP was destroyed in a fire on 6th September 1952.

GV-38 was a Swedish made version of the Rearwin 9000 Sportster. 14 GV-38s were built by Götaverken and SE-AHC was the first one, registered on 28th Oct1938. The aircraft has been restored by - and is now operated - by Göteborgs Veteranflygsällskap/Gothenburg Vintage Aviation Society.
