With no centrally located vertical tail, canards and a pusher engine/propeller configuration, the Starship was certainly distictive but is most noteworthy for being the first non-military aircraft certified by the FAA to have a carbon fibre composite airframe. This example, one of relatively few survivors from the 53 built, is on display at the Southern Museum of Flight.
