REGA started it's biggest modernization program in 2024, ordering no less than 21 new H145 (BK117D3) helicopters. REGA decided to replace the remaining Agusta AW109SP "Da Vinci" and the few H145 (BK117D2) with a single type, chosing the five bladed D3 also for its mountain rescue bases. REGA wanted the registrations of the 21 H145's to be consecutive, resulting in the unsual HB-TI* registrations (usually, civilian helicopters in Switzerland carry HB-X... or HB-Z... registrations). HB-TIC is a 2024 built helicopter and was the 2nd entering service in May 2025.
