Second prototype (built in 1974) of enlarged and more powerful Mi-2 version, the Mi-2M, which was developed at Świdnik during the early 1970s. Production of the type did not go ahead mainly due to the excessive weight of the airframe and the under-developed powerplants. Four or five prototypes of this version were built, and two more have been preserved in museums in Kraków (https://www.airhistory.net/photo/589563) and Drzonów (https://www.airhistory.net/photo/700848).
