Designers squeezed a cockpit into the space intended as an engine intake on the Jindivik target drone to create a piloted test aircraft. C-1 was lost in an accident and the second Pika, C-2, is preserved.

The first Pika where it came down in a forced landing caused by compressor stall. The pilot was badly injured in the accident and the aircraft written off. It had completed 44 test flights. The rest of the flight test program for the Jindivik pilotless drone was completed by C-2.

This was the first two Pikas that were manned aerodynamic test aircraft for the Jindivik drone. C-1, which was also A93-1, was written off on April 5, 1951 in forced landing due to compressor stall. A second Pika, C-2/A93-2, is preserved at the RAAF Museum. The Pika used small side engine intakes with the pilot sitting in what would be the intake area of the drone.
