The 'Flanker-C' trainer on display at the NMUSAF was built in 1989 and served first in the Soviet Navy and then the Ukrainian AF after the Soviet Union collapsed. In 2008, Ukraine sold the demilitarised jet in the US where it was given a CoA as N132SU, and in 2011 the US Air Force bought it, although it was not passed to the Museum until 2023

The most recent addition to the Air Force Museum's collection is an exotic one indeed! (Almost certainly) formerly N132SU with Tactical Air Support Inc, and originally 61 Blue with the Ukrainian Air Force. Photos can only do partial justice to just how big the Flanker truly is in person. Moved into her new display position in the museum's Cold War Gallery on October 30, 2023.
