The Ki-15 reconnaissance aircraft had excellent performance for its engine power and this prototype, sponsored by the Asahi Shimbun newspaper, flew from Tokyo to London in April 1937 in only 51 flying hours and 94 hours elapsed time. It was named Kamikaze which means 'divine wind'. The type was referred to as Karigane but the status of this is not clear. 'Mitsubishi', with the well-known company logo, is painted at the base of the rudder. This litte-known photo is assumed taken during the aircraft's stay in England.
