Withdrawn from use in 1963. This was around the time Australia grounded Geminis over concerns about deterioration of the glues used in their construction. A story circulated NZ that a Gemini had crashed in Australia due to termite damage. This was not true. The accident that sparked the Australian grounding of several wooden aircraft, including the widely used Anson, involved a Proctor V but no termites. Glue in the wing had failed.
