Norwegian pilot Calle Hedberg, who lived in Cape Town, undertook a round-the-world flight in ZU-XML Troll was his nickname and hence the name Troll Air. Hedberg passed away from natural causes in Norway in January 2025.

The Troll Air cartoon on the tail is not an actual operator. This aircraft was used by its South Africa-based owner Calle Hedberg for a trip around the world from February 2013 until March 2014, and for several other very long-distance adventures in later years.
