An interesting airframe, not entirely a Navy RF-8G, partly a Marines F-8K. Thanks to Steve Williams and Lindsay Peacock for the following information : The tail from USN RF-8G 145639 [2F231] was mated to USMC F-8K 146966 [2F318] sometime before MAY81. Possibly, prior to the removal of 145639 in SEP78. At some point after MAY81, possibly during re-preservation, the '145639' serial on the tail fin was painted out and '00146966' applied above it
