The two-seat Viggen has a unique tandem cockpit with periscope for a better view from the back seat. A relatively small number of two-seaters were built and this example is one of few preserved. It is displayed with the unit insignia of F4 Jämtlands flygflotilj which was based at nearby Frösön. The airfield at Optand was a satellite for Frösön.

A relatively small number of two-seaters was built and this example is one of few that has been preserved. Its cockpit is covered here to protect the glass from colouring by the elements.
