According to some sources, this SABCA-built, twin-engined machine was originally a W.8e trimotor, but was it? We assume this photo was taken early on, in 1924, because the original Dutch caption mentions an 'Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Basel' service which was advertised in the Dutch press at the time. Rotterdam to Basel took five hours according to the schedule and cost 70 guilders with a 15-kg baggage allowance. Actually the Sabena routes involved were Brussels-Rotterdam, extendended to Amsterdam from 1 September 1924, and Brussels-Strasbourg-Basel. Photo from: ETH-Bibliothek Z├╝rich
