With this Mil arriving at the end of the first show day and leaving again next day before the public was allowed onto the field, we were lucky to catch it on arrival. It is based at Bandar Abbas with the Helicopter Transport Squadron.

The end of the first Kish air show day held some nice surprises with a multitude of arrivals, including this rare specimen. Just five Mi-171s are in service with the Revolutionary Guard Navy and this one was first reported at Mehrabad in September 2000.
