On 17 May 1986 the pilot attempted to land on runway 14 in a strong crosswind and was in danger of being blown past runway 09-27. He made a steep turn to be able to land on runway 24 as quickly as possible. In that turn, the Cheetah stalled and hit the runway at full throttle in a nose-down position.
