This Phantom is seen here on its delivery flight to Germany where it became 3872. It later returned to the US, to operate from Holloman AFB, training German pilots. It was repainted in USAF colourscheme and the serial 72-1282 was re-applied. Unfortunately, this aircraft was lost on 14 October 1998 in a mid-air collision with another German Phantom over the White Sands missile range.
