PH-XXI, the star of the show, on display at the EVW Historic Heroes 2025. It sadly didn't fly due to something being wrong and the oil temperature getting too high. This one is currently the only one of its type in flying worthy condition. The other 2 are on display in museums.

The Fokker D.XXI was designed in 1935 as a fighter aircraft, 148 aircraft were built. PH-XXI is a rebuild from original plans, using various original parts. It took over 10 years of planning and restoring, but the result is magnificent. The original 229 was involved in the blitzkrieg in which the German Forces attacked The Netherlands in May 1940. It was one of the few aircraft that were able to offer resistance, but eventually it was shot down. Some of the wreckage was recovered and is on display at the Crash '40-'45 museum in Aalsmeerderbrug/Rijsenhout.

The conclusion of a 10-year project; building an original and airworthy Fokker D.21 (with the use of lots of original parts as well). The restoration project started in in May 2014, although the plans were set in motion well before that. After extensive testing, the airworthiness certificate was received in June 2023, which meant that their open day would be the first public showcasing of the aircraft. it flew a short display over the airfield, a wonderful sight and definitely a great sound!

Jack van Egmond's Fokker D.21 - a terrific addition to the warbird scene. Incredibly, it is powered by a factory-fresh Wright R-1820 Cyclone radial which the Dutch MoD still had in its crate somewhere. The original D.21 usually had a Bristol Mercury. One Spanish D.21 flew with a Cyclone or Soviet Shvetsov M-25 variant, however, and the old Cyclone installation design by Fokker helped the certification process for this gorgeous replica.
