Following the collapse of Thomas Cook Airlines in September 2019, those titles were removed from the rear fuselage and the heart on the tail replaced by the condor, later that year. At one year into the corona pandemic, this was one of many passenger aircraft used solely for cargo duties, to make up for the lack of belly freight capacity on normal schedules.

Taxiing out for the less-than-half-an-hour hop to Brussels, before continuing to Cincinnati. I suppose the sheer volume makes that short connection worthwhile - the 777 Freighter can carry nearly the same payload as a 747-200. At the photo date, this Triple was less than a year old.

UPS flight 11 from Seoul to Cologne follows a route that zig-zags over northern China and makes a 90-degree right turn after passing Astrakhan in south-west Russia. Putting it very much simplified, the Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy, SOFIA, consists of a German telescope in a NASA aircraft. The 747SP as a platform allows for 10 hour missions typically at 41,000ft or more, above almost all water vapour that would block parts of infrared light. SOFIA was decommissioned the following year, flying its last mission out of Palmdale, CA in the night of 27 and 28 September 2022.

Doing about one flight a week for most of January and February 2021, due to lack of work as a result of COVID-19 protective measures. The only sign of operator Malta Air appear to be tiny titles next to the forward left door.

Initially an Aeroflot Belarus machine as of April 1984, this Mil made a somewhat shady transition into the Hungarian registry in 1996. It last served there while leased by Hungarian Flight Ambulance. First noted in March 2015 as the 'gate guard' of the Oceans adult entertainment venue in Düsseldorf-Rath. With pandemic measures in force, this oldie is easily the most exciting thing to see there, whatever one's preferences.

Tail section of this former Lynden Electra, on which the now colourless logo can still be made out. N287F had been a parts source at Abbotsford from around 2004 for some six years, when it likely had to make way for the new FBO there. Roughly around the time it disappeared there, this part plus six Electra engine pods/wing sections/gear bays appeared at this location. They were still there in September 2019.
