The new Air Ambulance chopper based at Essendon, HEMS 5, about to depart from static display at the Australian International Airshow. A 2008 model, it was briefly registered to Bell in the USA as N357JB before being re-registered in Australia as VH-VAS(2) on 28 November 2008.

Tidal River is located on Wilson's Promontory, one of the most beautiful places in Victoria, and this was the third visit in four days for the air ambulance chopper. The previous day they had to winch a heatstroke victim off one of the walking tracks. VH-VAB carries titles both as 'Helimed 1', its ATC callsign, and as 'HEMS 2' (HEMS 1 being Polair 35, based at Essendon, and HEMS 3 being based at Bendigo). Helimed 1 is based at Latrobe Valley aerodrome.

There is a helicopter base very near Split airport with a number of active Mil-8s, but this was a visitor from neighbouring Slovenia
