This Turbo mentor crashed into Gulf of Mexico on 24 August 2011. Both crew maneged to get out of the trainer and safely took a swim before they were rescued by the US Coast Guard. The aircraft is pictured here in the lovely Golden Hour at a remote airfield in New Mexico. Some 25 Turbo Mentors of TAW-4 "G"-coded, based at NAS Corpus Christi (TX), and TAW-5 "E"-coded based at NAS Whiting Field-North (FL), were enjoying a winter class course in New Mexico.
