The photo was taken at RAAF East Sale in late 1961 or early 1962. It had a number of deployments in the early 1960s to RAAF Base East Sale with other B-57Bs as part of the USAF Crowflight deployments. The aircraft had the designation NB-57B painted, on the forward left fuselage just forward of the cockpit. Early 1962 it was back at East Sale in the same role of medium-level air sampling the filters were located in the special wingtip pods.
