This is former South Afican Air Force 474 painted as an Italian Air Force MB-326 aircraft. The Impala Mk.1 was produced under licence from Aermacchi by Atlas Aircraft Corporation in Transvaal. As well as the SAAF they served in Brasil, Argentina and Ghana. It was a welcome surprise to see this newly restored example at the wonderful Estrella Warbirds Museum.
