The JD-2 first flew in 1926. Designer Jerzy Drzewiecki became the D in RWD; JD-2 construction numbers seem to be intertwined with RWD construction numbers. SP-ADP was the fifth and final example, built in 1930 for pilot Witold Rychter. Ignacy Giedgowd flew it to third place in the 1930 National Contest for Lightplanes. The type was not easy to fly.
