Alex Henshaw's one-off Cirrus Major-powered Miles Hawk Major after it was salvaged following a crankshaft failure which caused the propeller to detach in flight over the Irish Sea during the 1935 King's Cup Air Race on Friday 6 Sep 1935. Alex ditched off Malin Head and was rescued by the steamer the "Manx Queen". Photo from Alex Henshaw, 40-odd years ago. This photo was added on 1 January 2026, and has since been viewed 180 times. |
