Delivered new to REGA in July of 2009 as the 3rd of a total of 12 A109SP's taken on strength. For it's rescue service in the Swiss alps / mountains, this A109 version was modified to specific REGA requirements and as such was nicknamed "DaVinci". It is fitted with a 250 kg hoist equipped with an ultralong 90 meter cable and a fixed (not retractable) landing gear. Zweisimmen became a rescue base in 1984 and was initially staffed during the winter season only (using an Alouette 3).
