Although the design showed promise as an An-12 replacement (and was even considered as a new airlifter by western air forces before the A400 was chosen), the An-70 has failed to gain the necessary support for production. Re-registered UR-EXA in April 2013. Seen at Istres AB in France in September 2015 as Ukraine AF "02 blue".
