This C-17A was delivered to the USAF on 9 December 2009. It had quite a journey to Gilze Rijen. On 25 August it had picked up two factory fresh Dutch AH-64Es (serials Q-47 and Q-49) with Boeing at Phoenix-Mesa (AZ). Just after take-off it went broke, so it flew to homebase McChord (WA). After repairs, it crossed the USA and the pond and arrived at Prestwick (UK) on the 26th. At that location it went tech again. Stayed there up to the 28th and eventually arrived at Gilze Rijen with the fresh delivery. It is seen here departing Gilze Rijen as REACH280. It went for Souda air base (Crete, Greece) This photo is copyright © Stephan de Bruijn, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
