The Soviet domination of Eastern Europe was not immediately total after World War II. Poland bought 21 surplus Bobcats in 1945. 14 were made airworthy and used by LOT for a few years, reportedly as airliners. The last survivor, SP-LEM, became SP-GLC with the Instytut Lotnictwa, the Polish aviation research and development centre. The institute's old logo is on the tailfin.
