First noted with 2°Gruppo TM 46ª Brigata Aerea in July 1979, then moved to 98°Gruppo TM/46ªBrigata Aerea in late 1999. Seen stored at homebase Pisa-San Giusto from May 2003. Then noted as C-27A with serial 84025 for the Afghan National Army Corps (ANA-AC). The ANA-AC acquired eighteen former Aeronautica Militare G222s. In late 2012, the USAF decided to withdraw the Afghan C-27A fleet from service due to constant availability problems. C-27A 84025 arrived at Ramstein air base (Germany) in March 2013.
