Replica of the first Canadian military aircraft. The original airplane was built in 1914 by the Burgess Company (USA) based on the British Dunn D.8 design as second machine of this type. In September 1914 it was bought by Canadian goverment for the newly created formation Canadian Aviation Corps. It was shipped to England for service in World War I, but was not used due to damages in transit and limited usefulness. By 1915 both the aircraft, and the Canadian Aviation Corps, had been removed from service. This 1:1 scale replica was built Barry MacKeracher and donated to the Museum in 2001.
