Spitfire PL979 was delivered to the Royal Norwegian Air Force as A-ZB on 31 July 1947. It made its last flight on 25 March 1954 and went to the Air Force Engineering School at Kjevik and was later found at Rygge and serveral other locations between 1960 and 1981.
