This photo of an F-4EJ of 301st SQ was taken at the JASDF Nyutabaru Air Base Air Show on November 25, 1990. There were five aircraft in total with this paint job. These aircraft participated in the 1990 JASDF Combat Competition and were painted in this manner to boost morale. The star on the fuselage represents the 5th Air Wing to which 301st SQ belonged. Also, when viewed from directly above, the arrangement of stars on the left and right sides forms a V for victory. The sharkmouths of each of the five aircraft were different shapes.
