On October 12, 2013, a ceremony was held at Nyutabaru Air Base to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the 301st SQ. On this day, four F4EJ Kai aircraft, including one with a special commemorative livery(No.398), performed a celebratory flight. This is a low, high-speed takeoff by the second livery aircraft to participate in the JASDF combat competition, No. 440. (This year's JASDF combat competition was held at the end of September 2013.) This aircraft is the 5,195th F-4 Phantom, the last to be built in the world. This photo is copyright © Masaaki Yotsumoto, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
