This 1971 built Islander is based at Camarillo/CA, but here recently arrived from Kelowna/BC (CYLW). Unlike many of the type it looks well cared for which may be because it is privately owned. The registration dates back to its build year when it was one of many imported by distributor Jonas Aircraft & Arms. The story goes that B-N gave them such a big discount they almost bankrupted themselves. At least it got the type on the map!
