The airfield at Tollerton was opened on 27th June, 1929 and it was permanently closed today, 6th June, 2025 leaving Nottingham with no General Aviation airfield. Planning permission for 1600 houses on a part of the airfield has already been granted. The air Traffic Control has been dilapidated for quite some time and the Chocks Away cafe which was always popular with young families closed a few weeks earlier.
