XW200 was damaged beyond repair in a crash in Kosovo on 9th April 2001. Shortly after take-off, after collecting personnel from a patrol, the helicopter inadvertently entered IMC conditions and the pilot elected to reduce height to attempt to regain visual contact with the ground. In the recovery from this situation, height was lost and the aircraft struck trees. One pilot and the navigator were killed and another person was seriously injured. The hulk of the aircraft was later recovered and stored at RAF Shawbury.
