An A-7D taken on strength in January 1971 and assigned to the 354th TFW at Myrtle Beach AFB, SC. In September 1972 it became the first of the type deployed by the USAF to Thailand for combat in Vietnam. The unit was back in the USA by May 1974 but it was assigned to the 125th TFS Oklahoma ANG, transferring to the 162nd TFS Ohio ANG at Springfield in 1983 where it remained until retired to AMARC in by 1992. In June 2000 it was sent to the Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD for target practice but survived and was apparently at one stage displayed at England AFB, LA before coming to Robins in May 2021 This photo is copyright © Richard Vandervord, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
