Built as an F-89D-55-NO, this Scorpion first served with the 63rd and 445th FIS and then became one of 350 modified to F-89J with underwing hardpoints for two Genie nuclear-armed rockets and four Falcon missiles. Ending its flying career with the 178th FIS, North Dakota ANG, it was one of the first aircraft in the Robins collection on arrival in 1983 This photo is copyright © Richard Vandervord, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
