Built by Republic at their Farmingdale plant on Long Island, this F-105 was accepted by the 4th FW at Seymour Johnson AFB, SC in March 1963. It was transferred to Osan AB, South Korea (where it stood nuclear alert with the 41st AD) and in 1967 to the 355th TFW at Takhli RTAFB, flying many combat missions. In 1972 it was assigned to the 507th TFG (AFRES) at Tinker AFB, OK. In 1980 it was switched to the 466th TFS at Hill AFB, UT becoming one of the last Thunderchiefs operated by the USAF. In 1983 it was sent to Lackland AFB, TX as a GF-105D for flightline ops training.
