This Bird Dog was supplied to the US Army by the USAF in January 1954 but in June that year was transferred under the Military Assistance Program to the French Army (L'aviation Légère de l'Armée de Terre - ALAT) for observation duties in Germany, using its c/n as s/n. Transferred to Dax in France in 1957, it was withdrawn from use around 1980 and in 1984, the museum acquired the aircraft through disposal channels in Europe. It was shipped to Robins for preservation and is currently marked as a FAC aircraft used by the USAF in Southeast Asia during the Vietnam War This photo is copyright © Richard Vandervord, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
