A29-90 crashed near Mildura Victoria on April 1, 1944. Centre section turned up 1968. Thought to be A29-28. Real identity discovered after it was acquired by the RAAF Museum in 1996 to be rebuilt as a static exhibit. Intended to be finished for the RAAF's 100th anniversary in 2021, COVID delays meant it was not finally displayed until March 2025. Ming the Merciless is a character from the 1930s sci-fi adventure Flash Gordon. This photo is copyright © David Caughey, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
