The 1978 Helicopter Association of America (HAA) annual convention was held at San Diego's Town and Country Resort Hotel next to Interstate 8. The adjacent golf course became a heliport for a few days so helicopter manufacturers could to provide flight demonstrations to prospective customers. This is the second prototype Bell 206L-1 LongRanger II, N16925, powered by a Allison 250-C28 engine, with the single exhaust stack replacing the two exhaust stacks of the Allison 250-C20B powered 206L. This aircraft carries "Experimental" titles. The 206L-II was certified by the FAA on May 17, 1978. This photo is copyright © Kenneth I.
