Although just a recreational airfield today, Turin's old airport is known as Torino - Aeritalia because of the former Fiat plant across the road. The preserved AMX prototype A02 serves as a monument to pilot Manlio Quarantelli, who died on 19 August 1984 following the crash of the first prototype MMX594 on its fifth flight, out of Caselle airport, on 1 June 1984.
