Indonesia's first jet squadron was inaugurated in February 1956 at Husein Sastranegara AB with eight Vampire T.55s serialled J-701 to J-708. This aircraft representing the first of them is in fact an ex RNZAF T.55, NZ5708, which was acquired by the Museum in 1985.
