The Narromine Aero Club has the distinction of being Australia's oldest regional aero club. Its modern club rooms are pictured along with the adjoining Narromine Aviation Museum. During World War II the aerodrome became an RAAF training base and postwar was the diversion airport for Sydney. It was also used by Qantas and others for crew training. That ended with the jet age as the runways were inadequate for the new airliners. Photo by: David Caughey
