A Herk in a sorry state, this work horse was delivered as a C-130K Hercules C1 to the RAF on 2 November 1967. It was added to 24sq and then to 48sq and later to the combined Hercules fleet of the Lyneham Transport Wing (LTW) at RAF Lyneham. The aircraft was later on modified to C1K with a refueling probe. It was sold to Sri Lanka on 1 August 1999 (with its probe removed) as C-130K with serial CR-881. It was reserialled to SCH-3401 and again researalled to SCH-881 in October 2012. Hopefully the SLAF is able to restore the Herk to flying condition in the near future when budget allows.
