Ca.1955: TOS USAF and assigned to the 93rd Bombardment (Heavy) Wing (SAC), Castle AFB, CA. 1/57: With two other B-52s, it made the first round-the-world flight for heavy bomber aircraft and were refueled by KC-97s. 1965: Flown to Wright Field, Wright-Patterson AFB, OH, for display at the future Air Force Museum location at Wright Field. As one of the outside aircraft, it was opened for display in July 1971. 1978: Replaced by B-52D 56-0665 and removed from display. 1984: Scrapped by the museum. The nose section was eventually acquired by Walter Soplata for his collection in Newbury, OH.
