It looks like these three four-engined Fokkers are identical but there was only one F.XXXVI (F.36, up to 36 passengers), and G-AFZP and G-AFXR, behind, are of the downsized F.XXII (F.22, 22 pax) variety. Having replaced them with DC-3s, KLM sold these three aircraft to Scottish Aviation at Prestwick in August 1939 for military service as navigation trainers, their unit becoming No 1 Air Observer and Navigation School on 1 November. The F.XXXVI crashed on 21 May 1940 on take-off from Prestwick. Military serial HM161 does not seem to be worn.
