Bermar "Bib" Stillwell was a renowned racing driver with business interests in both the car industry and aviation. Stillwell Aviation was the Australian agent for Learjet which led to Stillwell becoming president of Gates Learjet. VH-BIB was registered in 1978 but went to the US an N266BS when Stillwell was running Gates Learjet. It returned as VH-BIB in 1986 before being sold in the US in 1991 as N71CK.
